The game along with their academic and other soft skills will enhance their chances of gainful employment Resulting in overall development of the visually challenged Indian Blind Cricket …The Road so far I and II Blind Cricket World Cup tournaments were organized in 1998 and 2002 in Delhi and Chennai The first overseas series was undertaken by the Indian team in 2004 versus Pakistan. In May 2005 Pakistan Blind Cricket team played a series of 5 One Day Internationals in Delhi (Indo Pak Petro Cup) – India convincingly won by 4 – 0 The Indian Blind cricket team also finished runners up in the third edition of the Blind Cricket world cup held in Islamabad in 2006 In summer 2010, as a result of the immense effort and contribution from Samarthanam the Indian Blind Cricket team went on a tour of England and returned home after 3-0 series triumph and CABI assumes fulltime responsibility of organizing blind cricket. Indo- Pak bilateral series in Chennai, India, in March 2012, was won by hosts India convincingly CABI – Cricket Association for the Blind in India ,Is the cricketing arm of Samarthanam, Bangalore based NGO Affiliated to WBCC ( World Blind Cricket Council), bagged the hosting rights – T20 Worldcup The Gen Secretary of CABI Mr. Mahantesh is a lifetime achievement award winner of the NDTV sports award – Feb 2012 Blind Cricket Action About T 20 World Cup 2012 The first Twenty – Twenty World Cup Blind Cricket Tournament in the history of the game to be held in December,2012 Has confirmed participation from Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka along with new entrants Nepal. It will kick off with a grand opening ceremony in KSCA stadium First blind cricket International event to be held in Bangalore and also the first one in India since 2005 Doordarshan and All India Radio to telecast the tournament live keeping in view the reach of the National broadcaster. Extensive media planning, coverage (print, electronic & web) are being planned. A grand opening ceremony involving celebrities, cricketers is being stringed up.
