Reflection 3
The SBA process served as a transformative lesson for my academic growth, specifically through
the challenge of analyzing my three diverse sources of information. Navigating the expository
register of the University of Rhode Island and the empirical data of the National Data Buoy
Center forced me to develop a higher level of cognitive flexibility. I learned to bridge the gap
between complex thermodynamics and clinical statistics, a skill that has proven to have
significantly sharpened my philological Insights.
Furthermore, analyzing the vivid warnings from weather.gov taught me how to balance objective
facts with persuasive intent. This experience has replaced my superficial and basic research
habits with a rigorous academic discipline and standards, preparing me for the academic
demands of tertiary education. Ultimately, this journey has enhanced my rhetorical adaptability,
leaving me better equipped to communicate complex global issues with both intellectual
precision and personal conviction.
