Air Quality Monitoring
Particulate & Gas Analysis
Continuous monitoring of urban air is essential for
tracking Particulate Matter (PM10, PM2.5) as wellas
harmful gases like Sulphur Oxides (SOx) and Nitrogen
Oxides (NOx).
High Volume Samplers are deployed across Guwahati to
trap particulates on filter papers and absorb gases in
specialized reagents for subsequent laboratory analysis.

Urban Noise Analysis
Acoustic Assessments
Noise pollution severely impacts urban well-being. We
utilized calibrated Sound Level Meters to record ambient
noise across various commercial and residential zones.
Metrics such as Equivalent Continuous Sound Level (Leq)
are calculated to assess
regulatory compliance against
daytime and nighttime limits.

Law Enforcement Mandate
The PCBA doesn't just collect data; it enforces the Water Act (1974) and Air Act (1981),
acting upon the analytical findings.
Industrial Audits
Environmental data serves as the legal backbone for issuing clearances or notices to
industrial units operating in Assam.
Standardized SOPs
Strict adherence to standard operating procedures ensures that all collected data holds
up to rigorous legal and scientific scrutiny.
