1. The Non-Euclidean Basin
COORDINATES
Discovered during the 1924 Trans-Siberian altitude survey, the
78° 14' N, [REDACTED]
Basin of Penrose presents a spatial anomaly where elevation
vectors fold back into themselves. Traversing the basin
perimeter yields a measured walking distance that contradicts
satellite geodesic calculations by a factor of λ = √2 + 1.
CURVATURE RADIUS
R = −0.041 m⁻²
Field Observation #409
SURVEY STATUS
Water within the central basin flows perpetually in a closed

clockwise square, generating kinetic energy without thermal
dissipation. Local atmospheric pressure remains constant
regardless of barometric fluctuations outside the boundary.

requires re-evaluating baseline Riemannian geometry. The
distance metric ds² across the boundary gradient is expressed
as:
ds² = −(1 − 2M/r)dt² + (1 − 2M/r)⁻¹dr² + r²(dθ² + sin²θ dφ²)
Surveyors attempting to cross the perimeter on foot experience
non-linear subjective time dilation relative to stationary
observers stationed at Base Camp Alpha.
