What are the most important things you learned from the video? Identify at least two
concepts or ideas and briefly explain them.
Automated Inspection: Taking documentation from a machine and then using LLMs to
create job safety analysis
Incremental Sheet Forming: Feeding AI pictures of defects on a part to teach the AI what
defects look like and identify them during manufacturing
2. Applications of AI
What areas (industry, education, daily life, engineering, etc.) do you think could benefit the
most from the use of AI? Explain why and give at least one example.
I think coding and wiring can benefit most from AI due to the amount of information about
computer science that has already been established in LLMs. For example, I can go and
buy a Raspberry Pi and have LLMs feed me all the code I need to create a controls project
while also troubleshooting through the LLM.
3. Potential Pitfalls
What concerns or risks do you see with the rapid growth and adoption of AI in industry?
Consider things like jobs, ethics, safety, or decision-making.
The AI “bubble” has been widely speculated to “burst” with the adoption of LLMs or built in
AI on every website. I believe that like the internet, it will be blindly followed by poorly
informed/educated and can lead to poor practices especially in more physical
environments such as a manufacturing floor.
4. Personal Perspective
How do you think AI will impact your field of study or future career? Do you see it as more of
a tool, a threat, or both? Explain your reasoning.
AI is a tool and could be the greatest one humanity has created yet. However, like all other
technological advancements, the ramifications need to be considered during every use of
it. I personally have used it for many advanced projects and am always impressed by its
improvements.
