Identification and Description
The Computer Science Department is facing problems with its inventory management system.
Problem identification
Some of the problems include:
Inaccurate data
This is done due human errors during data entry
Cost
Implementing and maintaining an inventory management system can be expensive, especially
due to high-cost stationery requirements
Complexity
For large system with multiple records, managing inventory of books, computers and furniture
Loss and Theft
Inventory systems need robust security, measures to prevent loss and theft, which can be time
consuming and costly
Description of the problem
It is a system designed to manage and optimize the entire inventor life cycle of a business. This
includes managing stock locations and tracking inventory levels.
Statement of intention
To design and developan inventory system that wil;l be able to produce reports, access
centralized collection data, monitor stock levels. The proposed computerized system would
address these problems by allowing for electronic storage and retrieval
Main idea
The main idea is to develop an application software that records and keep uptodate the record of
assets in the computer lab
