Chapter 1: Problem identification
Problem description
At my school Sacred Heart Girls high School, there are
issues of the garden tools going missing, being
misplaced and permanently lost. The only records
available are handwritten books and plain sheets of
paper to write on and sometimes they do not record who
took the tools at all. This makes it difficult to find out
who last took the tool as books and papers get lost.
Statement of Intent
This project aims to resolve the issue by creating an
inventory check program which records the name of the
student who took the tool. It is also going to remind or
send an alert to the user if a tool has not been submitted
at the end of the day. It will also resolve the missing
tool cases, maintaining a proper tool management.
Design Specifications
 High accuracy in record keeping.
 Utilisation of technical skills.
 Secure data management of records.
