Lesson notes • Saturday, April 4, 2026 • 9:20 PM
Learning Objectives
Explain what the Bible teaches about God’s will in core areas (salvation, Spiritfilled living, sanctification, obedience, wise choices).
Identify common misunderstandings and fears about the will of God.
Apply biblical principles to personal decision-making.
Key Terms
God’s will: What God desires and commands, revealed in Scripture and applied
by wisdom.
Salvation: God’s rescue of sinners through Jesus Christ.
Sanctification: Growing in holiness—learning to live set apart for God.
Spirit-filled: Living under the influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit
(Ephesians 5:18).
Warm-up (Opening Questions)
What do you usually ask the Lord when you face decisions?
Is it okay to ask God about my decisions? Why or why not?
How can a Christian know and do the will of God? Is God leading your life?
Have you ever been afraid of the will of God?
Main Teaching: Five Biblical Priorities in God’s Will
Before we ask God for guidance on specific choices (school, work, moving,
relationships), Scripture highlights several areas where God’s will is already clear.
These priorities shape how we listen, decide, and live.
1) God Wants Your Salvation
Example: Judas and many in Jerusalem. Some who once shouted “Hosanna to the Son
of David” later demanded, “Kill Him and free Barabbas.”
Discussion: Why did they turn against Jesus?
They were waiting for a king—a warrior who would save them from the Roman
Empire.
Reflect: What are you expecting from God?
Scripture focus: Jesus came “to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).
Supporting passages:
verdad".
2) The Lord Wants Us Active and Spirit-Filled
Why would God show us additional guidance if we ignore what He has already revealed
in Scripture?
Efesios 5:18 "Sean llenos del Espiritu Santo"
Two important facts:
1. Believers have the Holy Spirit; we are not waiting for Pentecost (Romans 8:9).
2. The Holy Spirit lives in us (1 Corinthians 6:19).
Guiding question: How do I stay filled with the Holy Spirit?
3) God Wants Our Sanctification
Scripture focus: 1 Tesalonicenses 4:3–7
a Dios.
Control your body and subdue your passions.
o We might ask: “Where are the limits?” or “¿Qué tanto es tantito?”
Common Questions About Guidance Today
Why is it uncommon today to hear people speak about “the voice of the Lord”?
Why doesn’t God tell me whom I will marry?
Why doesn’t God show me what will happen next (e.g., whether my idea will be
successful, or whether I should move to another city)?
4) God Wants Our Obedience
Personal reflection: This is one of my least favorite “will of God” requirements—yet it is
clearly taught in Scripture.
Application question: Why has the Lord placed you where you are right now (home,
work, school, city)?
5) In Many Decisions, It’s Up to You (Wisdom and Responsibility)
Not every choice comes with a specific verse or a special sign. As we pursue salvation,
Spirit-filled living, sanctification, and obedience, we can make wise decisions—seeking
counsel, praying, and choosing what best honors Christ.
Review & Discussion
1. Which of the five priorities is most challenging for you right now? Why?
2. What is one expectation you have placed on God that might not match Scripture?
3. How does being “filled with the Spirit” relate to being “filled with the Word”
(Colossians 3:16)?
4. What boundaries help you pursue sanctification in your daily life?
5. Choose one decision you are currently facing. Which biblical principles apply,
and what is your next wise step?
Closing
Summary: God’s will is not mainly a mystery to solve; it is a life to live. When we follow
what He has clearly revealed—salvation, Spirit-filled living, sanctification, and
obedience—we are better prepared to make wise choices in the areas where Scripture
gives freedom.
