meaning of words in stories. To fully
understand the topic, you are going to read a
story entitled “ The Tortoise and the Hare”

Once upon a time, there was a hare who
was very proud of how fast he could run.
He always boasted to the other animals.
One day, a slow tortoise said, “I may be
slow, but I can win if I try!” The hare
laughed and agreed to race. When the race
began, the hare ran quickly, leaving the
tortoise behind. Thinking he had plenty of
time, the hare rested under a tree and soon
fell asleep. The tortoise, walking steadily,
never stopped. Finally, the tortoise reached
the finish line first! The hare woke up and
was very ashamed. He learned that being
slow and steady can sometimes be better
than being fast and proud.

“The Monkey and the Turtle”
Once upon a time, a monkey and a turtle
found a big basket of bananas in the forest.
The monkey was very clever and wanted all
the bananas for himself. He decided to trick
the turtle. "Let's share the bananas," said the
turtle. "We can divide them fairly." "No,"
said the monkey. "I want them all!" Then the
monkey climbed a tall tree with the basket
and tried to steal it. The turtle thought
carefully. "I will get my bananas back," he
said. Slowly, the turtle went near the tree and
called out, "Monkey, come down and share!"
The monkey laughed and didn't listen. Then
the turtle made a clever plan. He shook the
tree so the basket fell. The monkey tumbled
down, and the turtle got the basket of
bananas. In the end, the turtle ate his bananas
happily and the monkey learned that being
greedy and trying to trick others is not good.
