General information on entrance exams
The date of the entrance examination stated in the invitation to the entrance
examination is binding for applicants for studies at individual faculties of the
Bratislava University of Economics and Business and it is not possible to change it.
The entrance examination will take place through an online testing system.
Instructions for registering for the test will be sent to each candidate in the invitation
to the admission procedure. A demonstration of basic work with the system is available
after logging into the system.
The test for the entrance exam must be run within 15 minutes. from the specified time
of the entrance examination. The time to complete the test is 60 minutes. and passes from
the start of your test. The test will end automatically after the time has elapsed and you will
see the number of achieved points. Fill in the questions in the order in which they appear,
you cannot return to the previous questions.
The entrance exam (Faculty of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business
Management,) takes the form of a written test, which consists of the following parts: general
study prerequisites and foreign language of your choice.
An alternative date for entrance exams will not be set!
The evaluation of the tests will be in progress on the day of the entrance examination
using computer technology (automated evaluation). After answering all the questions and
sending the test, each candidate will see the sum of the points obtained for all answers.
The candidate can obtain a maximum of 200 points for the results of the entrance
exam, - at the Faculty of Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business Management.
The sum of the points obtained from all parts of the entrance examination will be used
to create a qualitative ranking of candidates. According to the overall result of the entrance
exam, at each faculty in Bratislava, the applicants will be ranked so that the number 1 will
be awarded to the applicant with the maximum number of points and the highest order
number will be given to the applicant with the minimum number of points.
Applicants will receive notification of the result of the admission procedure in
written form at the registered address within 30 days from the end of the entrance
examinations.
Only the dean of the relevant faculty is entitled to receive and deal with the matters
of admission to study, or more precisely an academic official of the faculty authorized by
him.
Information about the result of the entrance exams will not be provided by
phone!
A certified copy of the school-leaving certificate (if the applicants have not yet
submitted it - the originals of the school-leaving certificates will not be accepted) is
sent according to the instructions of the relevant faculty.
Applicants who have completed secondary school abroad are, according to §36 of
Act no. 422/2015 Coll. on the recognition of documents on education and the recognition of
professional qualifications and the amendment of certain laws, are obliged to submit the
required documents within the deadline set by the dean of the relevant faculty.

Subject General study prerequisites
Successful completion of the "General Study Prerequisites" test requires basic
knowledge of economy and economics, international economic relations, law, and political
science within the scope of the secondary school curriculum in civics and the field of financial
literacy in the third level according to the National Financial Literacy Standard version 1.2.
The candidate is expected to be able to think logically and know the basics of mathematics
within the scope of high school curricula.

market subjects. Market failures and imperfections. Demand, supply, and the formation of

and decision making. Perfect and imperfect competition (monopoly, oligopoly, and
monopolistic competition). Peculiarities of the market of production factors. Land market,

external interest groups of target decision-making; Workforce - basic forms of time and task
wages; Costs and prices of the company: basic characteristics of fixed and variable costs,
basic economic relations: profit, sales, costs, profitability.
Knowledge of the political and economic situation after the Second World War in
Europe. The consequences of the Second World War for the economy of European states
and the need for economic integration of European states. Establishment of the European
Coal and Steel Community, Member States, objectives, action - sectoral integration. The
signing of the Treaties of Rome - establishment of the European Economic Community,
Development of economic integration at a higher level - customs union, single market,
monetary union. Implementation of the common policies of the European Economic
Community / European Union - common commercial policy, common agricultural policy,
common transport policy, common foreign and security policy. Free movement of persons
within the European Union - Schengen Treaty. Deepening Western European integration
and expanding the membership base - from the European Six to the European TwentyEight. Slovakia and the European Union. Advantages and disadvantages of Slovakia's
accession to the European Union.
Basic concepts in economics, law, and political science within the scope of the
educational standard for Civics. Forms of state power and its legal aspects in democratic
countries, and other current issues of civics today. Financial literacy competences of the
third level according to the National Financial Literacy Standard (version 1.2). Financial
responsibility and consumer protection. The relationship between work and personal
income, personal finance management, and the use of a budget for cash flow management.
The tax system of the Slovak Republic. Health and social insurance. Risk management and

insurance, branches of life and non-life insurance. Legal forms and aspects of
entrepreneurship. Consumer purchasing decisions and payment methods. Credit and debt,
types of loans. Saving and investing. Financial institutions and their products. The citizen
and the state, the Constitution of the Slovak Republic, branches of state power. The citizen
and the law, the legal system, legislation, branches of law, and consumer rights.
Propositional logic sets and operations with them, elementary functions of one real
variable and their properties, linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, systems of
linear equations, sequences, combinatorics, the classical definition of probability, word
problems.

The compilation of the tests assumes that the candidates master the subject matter
in the prescribed scope of secondary school vocabulary and grammar.
