Summary of how to make a conversation – say at a party or seminar

Summary
1. The first word opens flood gates…. Say hi at least to one stranger
in the room
2. Skip the small talk – how r u, fine, whats up, same same… and
then stop – ask something interesting eg meaning of your name,
where are you from etc
3. Use Me-Toos : Oh you’re from Delhi, me too! Where in Delhi?
4. Pay a unique compliment – genuinely and specific
5. Ask for an opinion – genuinely – but keep it generic – not on a
subject which looks intimidating
6. Be present – make eye contact. Skip the mobile
7. Remember the names – repeat it to yourself – use it multiple
times in conversation to memorise
