In the scope of the Airbus Flight operational Commonality demonstration, this document provides a comparison between A350 and A330 to help substantiate the training credits. It illustrates by ATA chapters the Common and Specific features (functions) of each aircraft. It focuses primarily on the human machine interface from a pilot’s perspective. Consequently, Airbus has decided to pursue regulatory approval of a Common Type Rating for the A330 and A350 XWB. If granted, A330 pilots are expected to qualify on the A350 XWB without full flight simulator time and to then be able to fly both aircraft under a single license endorsement. © AIRBUS S.A.S. A350 XWB commonality with the A320 Family, A340 and A380 CCQ, which includes full flight simulator sessions, will be available for A320 Family, A340 and A380 pilots. Airbus will also support airlines wishing to implement MFF with A350 XWB and A320 Family, A340 or A380 aircraft. PR1010081 A350 ↔ A330 Comparison Intro - 6 / 9 © AIRBUS S.A.S. All rights reserved. AP/FD TCAS The AP/FD TCAS is an AP/FD vertical mode that provides vertical guidance in the case of a TCAS Resolution Advisory (TCAS RA) alert. This function provides clear flying orders via the FD bars. Those orders are designed to avoid potential over-reactions and to minimize the deviation from the initial ATC clearance. If the auto pilot is engaged, the AP/FD TCAS automatically performs the avoidance procedure. If both APs and FDs are disengaged, the FD automatically engage.
