Which resources offered at TU/e could help you to achieve your goals:
Many resources within TU/e will allow me to achieve my goals throughout this academic
year. My first goal is to improve my presentation skills and there are many options that TU/e
offers that will allow me to achieve this. One of the options that would be perfect to achieve
this goal is the presenting skills workshop offered at TU/e skills lab, in this workshop I will
have the chance to make a self-assessment, which will give me an idea of what my
strengths and weaknesses are when presenting and once I have thoroughly examined the
feedback I can do the corresponding guided learnings to improve those areas that I struggle
with the most. Furthermore, the skills lab also offers a written e-course on presenting and
pitching. This will be very helpful for reaching my goals since it will further improve my
presentation skills and it will also give me an insight on how to pitch, which is something I’m
unfamiliar with. Within my team, I am part of the business division, and our plan for the
second part of the year is to create a detailed business plan that we will be able to pitch to
potential customers of our service, therefore being able to pitch appropriately will be
fundamental to achieve my team goals as well. Furthermore, my second goal is to improve
my networking skills since part of my job within my team is to reach out to other companies
to look for potential clients but also to cooperate. The TU/e career academy offers a
workshop on the 5th of March in which the goal is to become more aware of how to use
LinkedIn to present yourself as a professional and create/maintain your network. This will
certainly come in handy since I will need LinkedIn to reach out to other companies and also
because I will learn other aspects of networking. Finally, the career lab also offers individual
coaching with professionals to help you with a variety of things, from writing a CV to
negotiating contracts. This is a useful resource for achieving my goals since these
professionals could guide me on what tools to use and how to improve my networking skills.
