Product Description: Product: Bridge Brilliance Assessment Tool 2. Purpose: The Bridge Brilliance Tool is designed for conducting Technical Skill Gap Assessments 1. for employees. It helps identify technical skill gaps among management cadre technical function employees across all UltraTech plants/units, including those at PF, SH, and DH levels in technical departments across various manufacturing and project locations, land locations, and Birla White (manufacturing). 3. Scope: This tool focuses on assessing the technical skill proficiencies of employees hiring based on the UltraTech Technical Skill Framework (UTSF). The results of skill gap identification play a crucial role in targeted upskilling and re-skilling efforts, guiding and skilling decisions, and complementing talent development initiatives. 2. Target Audience: • Targeted Beneficiaries: Technical function employees at TPP, Quality Control, Process, AFR, Electrical & Instrumentation, Mechanical (1&2), Civil & Projects, Technical Services, Mines. 3. Key Features: 1. Empirical Skill Gap Assessment: The Bridge Brilliance Tool introduces an empirical method for technical skill gap assessment, departing from traditional methods based solely on business needs or recommendations. It evaluates the technical skill proficiencies of PF, SH, and DH level employees using a skill taxonomy aligned with the UTSF. 2. Multi-Rater Assessment: Skill assessments are conducted through a multi-rater assessment method using a 4-point Likert scale. This approach helps mitigate bias and ensure a more accurate evaluation. 3. Skill Gap Identification: The tool identifies skill gaps by subtracting the employee's skill score from the required proficiency level. 4. Assessment Process Flow: The assessment process involves three key components: Self-Assessment, Line Manager Assessment, and Skip Manager Assessment. Please note that Skip Manager Assessment assesses the subordinate employee after the Line Manager has completed the eligibility check, position update, and assessment. 1. Line Manager Assessment: • • The Line Manager is responsible for conducting eligibility checks, updating the employee's position information, and assessing the employee's skills and proficiency. Once the Line Manager has completed these steps, the assessment becomes available for the Self-Assessment and Skip Manager Assessment for the respective employee. 2. Self-Assessment: • • Following the completion of the Line Manager Assessment, the employee is given the opportunity to assess their own skills and proficiency. The Self-Assessment contributes to the overall skill score calculation. 3. Skip Manager Assessment: • • • The Skip Manager Assessment assesses the subordinate employee after the Line Manager has completed their responsibilities, including the eligibility check, position update, and assessment. If the Skip Manager also serves as the Line Manager for the employee, they will perform the same responsibilities as the Line Manager in the assessment process. the Skip Manager Assessment contributes to the overall skill score calculation. 5. Login: To access the Bridge Brilliance Tool and participate in the skill assessment process, users will typically utilize their Windows User ID for login. However, in certain situations, if users have previously logged in and their credentials are saved, the system may automatically log them in when they access the login page. Login Using Windows User ID (Manual Login): • Access the Login Page: Enter the URL provided for the Bridge Brilliance Tool or navigate to the login page. http://apps.abgulink.com/xxxxxx • • Windows User ID and Password: In the login fields, enter your Windows User ID, which is typically your network username provided by your organization, and your corresponding password. Click "Sign In": Click the "Sign In" button to initiate the login process. Auto-Login (When Previously Saved Credentials): In some cases, when users have previously logged in and opted to save their credentials, the system may automatically log them in when they access the login page without requiring manual entry of their Windows User ID and password. Access from outside with VPN: If you are working from home or any remote location and the Bridge Brilliance Tool operates exclusively on the organization's intranet, it is essential to establish a VPN connection before attempting to log in. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) creates a secure and encrypted connection to the organization's network, allowing you to access intranet-based resources securely from outside the office. Forgot Password: If you forget your Windows User ID password, there is typically an option to reset it or recover it through your organization's IT support or password recovery system. Follow the provided instructions for password recovery. Support: For login-related issues, password resets, VPN setup assistance, please contact your organization's IT support or helpdesk. 6. User Interface based on Role: The user interface of the Bridge Brilliance Tool is designed to provide a tailored experience based on the user's role within the organization. The interface dynamiclly adjusts to display relevant features and options. 6.1 Line Manager: Upon a successful login by a Line Manager, the system seamlessly presents two distinct sections based on their responsibilities within the organization: • • Self-Assessment. Direct Reportee Assessment. 1. Self-Assessment: When the assessment button is grey, it indicates that your Line Manager has either not started assessing your performance or is currently in the process of doing so. You should wait until your Line Manager has completed their assessment. Once your Line Manager finishes your assessment, the button will turn red, indicating that you can then proceed with your own assessment. 2. Direct Reportee Assessment: Line Managers have the ability to perform various crucial actions directly using the information presented below. These actions include checking eligibility, updating employee positions, and initiating assessments for their team members. In the following section, we will provide a step-bystep guide on how Line Managers can efficiently execute these tasks. Step-1: Eligibility Check: Line Managers can verify the eligibility of their subordinates for assessments by selecting the option from the dropdown menu next to the respective employee's name and initiating an eligibility check. If 'None' is selected, it will display 'Eligible'; otherwise, it will display 'Not Eligible.' If an employee is eligible, data for position update becomes available. 1. List of options available in the dropdown menu. 2. So, when 'None' is selected from the dropdown, the remarks column will be updated to 'Eligible.' If any other option, except 'None,' is selected, the remarks column will be updated to 'Not Eligible’. 3. Now, when you select the 'None' option and click on the submit button, a confirmation box will appear on the screen. 4. After clicking the ‘Continue’ button, your data will be saved, and a successful message popup will appear on the screen. You will then be automatically redirected to the position update page. Step-2: Position Update: After successfully submitting the eligibility page, you will be directed to the position update page. Here, Line Managers can update the positions of their team members directly from the data displayed below. So, in the dropdown menu, all available positions are listed next to the respective employees. Line Managers can select the most suitable position for each employee. Additionally, there is a 'None Of The Above' option if none of the listed positions is suitable for the employee. When the 'None of the Above' option is selected, the page redirects to the 'None of the Above' page. In this page, all competencies are displayed in the system for the current department of employee. Line Managers can choose the competencies by marking the checkboxes and define the desired and proficient levels also add the new competencies by clicking on ‘Add new competency’. In the following section, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how Line Managers can efficiently execute these tasks. 1. In the following screen, all available positions are listed in the dropdown menu. 2. If the listed positions are not suitable for the employee, you can choose the 'None of the Above' option. When 'None of the Above' is selected, the page will automatically redirect to the 'None of the Above' page. 3. Now, enter the position title and mark the appropriate competencies on the screen. 4. On the screen, two competencies are checked, and an additional competency is needed based on the employee's job. To add new competency, simply click on the 'Add New Competency' button. After clicking, a dialog box will appear on the screen, allowing you to define the competency, desired level, and proficiency level. 5. After entering the new competencies on the screen, click the 'Add' button. Upon clicking, the new competencies will be added to the screen and will automatically be checked. 6. After clicking the 'Submit' button, a confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen. Simply click 'Continue' to proceed. 7. After clicking the 'Continue' button, the screen will redirect to the position update page, where the position will be available in the dropdown. 8. After clicking the 'Submit' button, a confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen. Click 'Continue' to proceed. Step-3: Assessment Page: 1. After successful submission in position update page, a message box will appear on the screen. You will then be automatically redirected to the assessment employee list page, where you'll find the 'Start Assessment' button in red color. Simply click on it to proceed with taking the assessment. 2. After clicking on 'Start Assessment' button, the assessment form will open on the screen. 3. In the Assessment page, select the proficiency level based on competency. If a competency is not applicable for the employee, check the ‘Not Applicable’ same. You can also enter optional remarks. Line Managers can add additional competencies, similar to the 'None of the Above' page. 4. After entering all the required data in the previous screen, click on 'Submit.' A confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen; click 'Continue' to proceed. Then, a success message box will appear on the screen. 5. You will be redirected to the employee assessment page, where the ‘Completed' button will be displayed in green color, indicating that the assessment has been completed by the Line Manager. 6.2 Skip Manager: Upon successful login, Skip Managers with the combined responsibilities of self-assessment, line manager assessment, and skip manager assessment will have a comprehensive user interface that caters to all three key roles within the Bridge Brilliance Tool. This interface is designed to streamline their duties and enhance their efficiency in managing assessments for their team members. • • • Self-Assessment. Direct Reportee Assessment. Skip Level Reportee Assessment. 1. Self-Assessment: For more detailed information on specific features and functionalities, please refer to Section 6.1 for self-assessment user manual. 2. Skip Level Reportee Assessment: In the Skip Level Reportee section, the employee list is displayed. To initiate the assessment, click the 'Start Assessment' button. If the button displays 'View Assessment,' it means the assessment has been completed by the Skip Level Manager. If the button text is 'Not Started,' it indicates that the assessment is pending and awaits action by the Line Manager. 1. Now click on ‘Start Assessment’ button, once clicking on button assessment form opened. 2. After clicking the ‘Start Assessment’ button, the skip level manager is displayed with a screen containing all the competency selected by the Line manager for assessment. 3. Select the proficiency level for each competency, add optional remarks, and then click the submit button. 4. After clicking the 'Submit' button, a confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen. Click 'Continue' to proceed. 5. After clicking the ‘Continue’ button, a message box appears confirming successful data saving. 6. After few seconds, the message box disappears, and the screen below remains froze and data can’t be changed. Now click on ‘Go back’ button. 7. After clicking the ‘Go Back’ button, the previous employee assessment page displayed. In the skip level assessment section, the assessment status for respective employee is marked as ’Completed’ with a green color. 6.3 Self-Assessment: When an employee logs into the system and does not have any subordinates under their supervision, the system automatically redirects them to the self-assessment page. However, whether they can proceed with the self-assessment depends on their Line Manager's actions. If the Line Manager has completed the assessment, the employee can proceed with their self-assessment. If the Line Manager has not completed the assessment, the system displays an error message, indicating that the selfassessment cannot be initiated until the Line Manager completes their assessment. 1. Now we assume assessment has been completed by the line manager for the employee, the below screen displayed to the employee. 2. Select the proficiency level for each competency, add optional remarks, and then click the submit button. 3. After clicking the 'Submit' button, a confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen. Click 'Continue' to proceed. 4. After clicking the ‘Continue’ button, a message box appears confirming successful data saving. 5. After few seconds, the message box disappears, and the screen below remains frozen and data can’t be changed.
