The Houbolt method is an implicit, unconditionally stable finite difference scheme for transient
dynamic FEA. It uses past displacements to approximate acceleration, introducing numerical damping
that filters high-frequency noise, ideal for low-frequency, long-duration simulations where stability and
efficiency outweigh the need for fine temporal resolution.
