Good morning everyone!
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends, we welcome you all to today’s morning
assembly.
Today, we have gathered to celebrate the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as
Gurpurab — the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of
the ten Sikh Gurus.
Anchor 2: Dixita
Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life was a message of peace, equality, and devotion to God. He taught us
that there is only one God, and all human beings are equal in His eyes. His words continue to
guide millions even today.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us that remembering God’s name is the path to true happiness.
So, let’s begin this holy day with a prayer to the Almighty.

2. Prayer : Gunishka
On this holy occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, let’s remember the divine teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
— to live truthfully, help others, and remember God’s name.
Let’s now join our hands and begin our prayer with pure hearts.
O Lord, today we remember Guru Nanak Dev Ji,
The light who showed us that God lives in everyone.
Help us to be honest in our actions, pure in our thoughts,
And kind in our words.
Let peace and harmony fill our hearts,
And may Your divine presence guide us in every step we take.

6. Speech on Guru Nanak Jayanti : Nancy
Good morning respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends.
Today, we have gathered here to celebrate the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday, also
known as Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the founder of Sikhism and the first Sikh Guru. He was born in 1469 at Talwandi,
now known as Nankana Sahib, in Pakistan. From a very young age, he was deeply spiritual and always
believed in the oneness of God.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings were based on truth, equality, love, and service to humanity. He taught us
that there is only one God, and we can reach Him through good deeds, honest living, and remembering
His name. He rejected all forms of discrimination and said that all human beings are equal, regardless of
their religion, caste, or gender.
One of his most famous messages was:
“Naam Japo, Kirat Karo, and Vand Chakko”
which means — remember God’s name, earn an honest living, and share with others.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life inspires us to be kind, humble, and helpful. He showed that real happiness
comes not from wealth or power but from selfless service and devotion.
On this holy day, let’s promise to follow his teachings in our daily lives — to be truthful, respect
everyone, and spread love wherever we go.

Skit Title: “God Is Everywhere”
Theme: Equality, Unity, and the Presence of God in Every Heart

Scene 1: The Quarrel in the Village
(The stage shows a simple village. On one side, a temple; on the other, a mosque. Villagers are gathered
in the middle, arguing loudly.)
Narrator:
Long ago, Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his companion Bhai Mardana were traveling across many towns and
villages to spread the message of peace, truth, and unity.
One day, they reached a village where the people were divided by religion.
Some believed that God lived only in the temple, while others said He was only in the mosque.
(Villagers arguing)
Villager 1: Khushal
I tell you, God listens only to those who pray in the temple! We ring the bells, light the diyas, and chant
mantras — that’s how God hears us!
Villager 2:Vaidik
No, that’s wrong! God listens to us in the mosque when we bow before Him and say our prayers five
times a day.
Pandit (angrily):
You don’t understand! Only the temple is sacred — it’s where the Lord resides!
Maulvi (sternly):
You are mistaken! Allah listens only to those who follow His path in the mosque!
(They all begin to argue more loudly.)
Villager 3 (worried): Rajnish
Please stop! Fighting will not bring peace. But how do we know where God truly lives?
(At that moment, Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Bhai Mardana enter the scene slowly.)
Scene 2: Guru Nanak Ji Arrives
Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
My dear children, why are you arguing in such anger? What troubles your hearts?
Villager 1 (bowing): Harsh
Guru Ji, please guide us. We are confused.
The Pandit says God lives only in the temple, and the Maulvi says God lives only in the mosque.
Pandit:
Yes, Guru Ji! God is in the temple, because that is where we worship Him every day.
Maulvi:
But that is not true, Guru Ji! Allah is one, and He listens to those who pray to Him in the mosque!
(Villagers nod and murmur in confusion.)
Guru Nanak Dev Ji (smiling calmly):
My children, how can the same God who created the whole world live in only one place?
Bhai Mardana (softly playing his rabab):
Guru Ji, perhaps they do not yet understand that the Creator is in every heart.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
Yes, Mardana. Let us help them see the truth.
🌞 Scene 3: The Lesson of Unity
Guru Nanak Dev Ji (to Pandit and Maulvi):
Pandit Ji, please stand on my right.
Maulvi Sahib, please stand on my left.
Now, Pandit Ji, when I lift my right hand, bow down in prayer as you do in your temple.
And Maulvi Sahib, when I lift my left hand, bow down as you do in your mosque.
(Both agree. Guru Ji lifts his right hand, then his left hand alternately.)
Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
Now tell me, my friends — in which direction did God listen to your prayer?
(Both look puzzled.)
Guru Nanak Dev Ji (smiling):
God listens to both of you — because He is not in one direction or one building. He is everywhere — in
your hearts, in the air you breathe, in the food you eat, and in the kindness you show.
Villager 2: Daksh Dahiya
But, Guru Ji, how can God be in both places at the same time?
Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
Look at the sun — it gives light to all, whether you are in a temple or a mosque.
Look at the air — it doesn’t ask what religion you follow before giving you breath.
In the same way, God’s love reaches everyone equally.
(Soft background music from rabab.)
Guru Nanak Dev Ji (to all):
True worship does not happen in temples or mosques alone — it happens when your heart is pure and
your deeds are honest.
Scene 4: The Realization
(Everyone looks ashamed and thoughtful.)
Pandit (bowing):
Guru Ji, I have been so proud of my rituals that I forgot the meaning of true devotion.
Maulvi:
And I thought only my way was right. But now I understand — God is beyond walls and prayers.
Villager 1: Aditya
Guru Ji, we will no longer fight over religion. We will live as brothers and sisters, seeing God in every
heart.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji (smiling and blessing them):
That is the true path — to live with love, peace, and equality.
Always remember — “Na koi Hindu, na koi Musalman.”
We are all children of one God.
(He raises his hands in blessing.)
Guru Nanak Dev Ji:
Let your faith be love, your temple be your heart, and your prayer be kindness.
That is where God truly lives.
Scene 5: Conclusion
Narrator:
The villagers understood the divine message. From that day, they lived in harmony, respecting all faiths
and helping one another.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji continued his journey, spreading the light of truth, compassion, and equality
wherever he went.
(All characters join hands and say together:)
