1. PURPOSE
To establish a standardized color-coding system for all ZAMIL facilities, workshops, storage
areas, HVAC equipment, and pipelines to ensure uniform identification of hazards,
materials, and equipment, thereby promoting safety, order, and compliance with
international standards.
2. SCOPE
This procedure applies to all ZAMIL sites, including workshops, stores, warehouses, HVAC
service vehicles, and project sites.

All lifting tools and slings shall be tagged and color-coded after inspection. Non-tagged
items shall not be used.
8. FLOOR & AREA DEMARCATION

Walkways: White solid lines (50mm width)
•
Equipment Zones: Yellow outline boxes
•
Storage Areas: Blue or Green outline
•
No Access Zones: Red cross-hatching
•
Emergency Routes: Green continuous marking

9. INSPECTION & VERIFICATION
•
Color code inspections to be conducted quarterly using Form HSE-CC-INS-01.
•
Non-conforming markings must be corrected within 7 days.
•
Updated “Color Keyboard” to be displayed at each site entrance.
•
Annual review of color codes to ensure compliance with standards.
10. GENERAL WARNINGS
•
Avoid over-painting or cosmetic painting.
•
Painted floors may become slippery; use anti-slip coatings where required.
•
Ensure paints used are non-toxic and environment-friendly (low-VOC).
11. RECORDS & DOCUMENT CONTROL
All inspection forms, approval sheets, and updated color-coding charts shall be filed under
“HSE Documentation – Controlled Copy”. Any printed or unsigned copy is considered
“Uncontrolled”.
12. TRAINING & AWARENESS
•
All employees shall be trained annually on color code meaning and identification.
•
Toolbox talks to include visual examples and color chart distribution.
