Good morning juries, ladies and gentlemen, I am
. I am
a student of islamic intergated school of Al – Furqon Palembang. On the
grade.I am happy standing here in front of you to deliver a famous story
from central java. The story is titled Timun Emas. Please listen to my story
thoroughly and let me begin.
A long time ago,there was a farmer and his wifelived in the small village.
Every day she prayed to God to be given a child.
“Oh God, please give us a baby girl”. One night when they prayed, a giant
passed her house and heard their pray.
The giant said “ Hohoho… I can give you a child, but you should give the
child back to me when she is seventeen years old”
The farmer and his wife agreed,because they wanted a baby very much.
Then the giant gave them a cucumber seed.
Next day, they planted the seed in the yard. they watered it every day.
Day by day it got bigger and bigger, and finally it become a big golden
cucumber.
One day, the farmer picked a cucumber ang slowly cut it. Wow! They
were surprised. The farmer said to his wife “ Look! my wife,there is a baby
in it”, “ How cute the baby is” his wife replied.
They were very happy and they named her Timun Emas.
Timun Emas grew up as a lovely and beautiful girl. She was smart and kind.
However the pointed time came, when she was seventeen years old.The giant
came and said to the farmer. “ Hahaha… I am coming to take your daughter”.
The farmer tried to calm the giant. “Ooo… do not worry, she is playing in the
garden now. Let my wife get her”.
Meanwhile, his wife found Timun Emas and gave her three things in the bag
and said to her. “ My daughter, the giant has come to take you.” … “ What can I
do mother? “ Asked Timun Emas anxiently . “ Throw one of three things in the
bag whenever the giant comes close”. Timun Emas run as fast as she could.
The giant run after her. When he almost caught her, she took out the first
thing in the bag, a handfull of salt, and threw it towards the giant. Suddenly
the ground turned into a wide sea. The giant tried to catch Timun Emas by
swimming. “ Oh no the giant has coming”. Then Timun Emas took out the second
thing from the bag, a handfull of cucumber seed.
The ground turned into a field if cucumber vines. The giant felt thristy and
hungry, and then he ate a lots of fresh cucumbers.
He ate… ate and ate again and until he fell a sleep. When Timun Emas saw
this, she run as fast as she could. But suddenly, the giant woke up and run after her
quickly.
Finally, Timun Emas threw the last thing, It is a handfull a shrimp paste.
The ground suddenly turned into a sea of mud. He was trapped there. Timun Emas
quickly went home.
“ Mother, Father. I am alive”. They were very happy. They lived happily
ever after.
The moral lesson from this story is we must be brave to face any obstacle
and evil in our lives. Allah will always protect us, as long as we always do the
kindness.
