Preamble:
The representative of the 9th grade class, establish this constitution to foster a supportive and
engaging learning environment. Our aim is to cultivate leadership, respect, and academic
excellence within our class community.
Article I: Name and Purpose
Section 1: This organization shall be known as the 9th Grade Class Council, hereinafter referred
to as the "Council."
Section 2: The Council's purpose is to promote collaboration, responsible leadership, and
inclusivity among its members, enhancing our educational journey.
Article II: Membership and Responsibilities
Section 1: All enrolled 9th-grade students at [School Name] are members of the Council and are
expected to fulfill certain duties and responsibilities.
Section 2: Responsibilities include:
a. Upholding a positive and respectful environment within the classroom and school premises.
b. Actively engaging in Council meetings, events, and initiatives.
c. Embracing diversity and inclusivity among classmates.
d. Demonstrating academic integrity and supporting peers' educational endeavors.
Article III: Leadership
Section 1: The Council's leadership comprises elected officers: President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer, and Class Representatives.
Section 2: Officer responsibilities:
a. The President shall preside over meetings, facilitate communication, and oversee Council
activities.
b. The Vice President shall assist the President and assume their duties when necessary.
c. The Secretary shall maintain accurate records of meetings and communication within the
Council.
d. The Treasurer shall manage finances transparently and responsibly for class activities. e. Class
Representatives shall advocate for their peers' concerns and suggestions within the Council.
Article IV: Meetings and Decision Making
Section 1: Council meetings shall be held [specify frequency, date, and time] at a mutually
agreed-upon schedule.
Section 2: Decision-making process:
a. Respectful and open discussions shall occur during meetings.
b. Decisions require a majority vote, with the President responsible for tie-breaking.
c. Any Council member may propose agenda items for discussion during meetings.
Article V: Activities and Engagement
Section 1: The Council shall organize diverse activities, limited to:
a. Academic support programs, study groups, and tutoring initiatives.
Article VI: Tax Payment for Elected Officials
Section 1: Elected officers shall contribute a nominal tax payment two weeks following their
election.
Section 2: The tax payment shall be used to fund Council initiatives and activities for the benefit
of the class.
Section 3: The Treasurer shall maintain a transparent record of these tax payments and their
allocation for Council-approved activities.
Article VII: Amendments
Section 1: Amendments to this constitution require a two-thirds majority vote and can be
proposed by any Council member.
Section 2: Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing at least [specify time frame]
before the vote.
Article VIII: Ratification
Section 1: This constitution shall be considered ratified upon the approval of the majority of the
9th-grade class members.
Article IX: Punishments and Representative Exemptions
Section 1: Punishments for violating the constitution or class rules may include but are not

a. Verbal warning or counseling from the Council.
b. Temporary suspension from participating in Council activities.
c. Removal from an elected position through a vote by the Council members.
d. Other disciplinary actions deemed appropriate by the Council, in alignment with school policies.
Section 2: Class Representatives, while accountable for upholding the constitution and class rules,
shall be exempt from certain disciplinary actions administered by teachers or school administration
regarding Council-related matters.
a. Class Representatives shall be immune from punitive actions for voicing the collective concerns,
suggestions, or grievances of the class within the Council's purview.
b. This exemption applies to disciplinary actions directly related to their role as a representative
and within the confines of their responsibilities outlined in this constitution.
Article X: Amendments
Section 1: Amendments to this constitution require a two-thirds majority vote and can be
proposed by any Council member.
Section 2: Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing at least [specify time frame] before
