INTRODUCTION
1.
General
This manual has been prepared generally in accordance with ATA
Specification 100.
2.
Content
This manual contains information on systems and units of equipment to the
level required to service the aircraft, to understand and maintain the
systems to a safe standard, and to remove and install units of the systems.
Servicing instructions of units removed from the aircraft are contained in
the relevant Component Maintenance Manual.

Using the Manual
A.
Chapterization
Chapters are allocated in accordance with ATA Specification 100.

Descriptive and maintenance information for the complete system is
contained in the pages bearing the first element number only
(30-00-00). Where a system is broken down into subsystems, descriptive
and maintenance information for the subsystem will be found on the
pages bearing the first and second element number (30-11-00).
Removal and installation information of units within a system will be
found on the pages bearing all three element numbers (30-11-11).

The manual is separated into chapters with yellow tab dividers, each
divider indicating the corresponding chapter number and title.

List of Effective Pages
The List of Effective Pages located at the front of each chapter can be
used to check the completeness of the chapter and the latest issue of
the pages. The data against each page should correspond to the date on
the relevant page within the chapter.

Table of Contents
The Table of Contents located after the List of Effective Pages can be
used to rapidly locate a particular section or subject and to determine
the effectivity of the same against different aircraft types.

Effectivity
The system to indicate the effectivity of each topic is as follows:
each page has a "See TOC" indication at its bottom to forward the
reader to the Table of Contents. When a determined page is applicable
to a specific aircraft, the version designation of this aircraft is
indicated at the bottom of the page.
To cover the differences of configuration among aircraft versions in
the topics, the codes CONFIG.1, CONFIG.2, etc, are used.
Refer to the INTRODUCTION ANNEX II, Aircraft Series, for the
cross-reference among the versions designation, CASA serial numbers and
the aircraft serial numbers.

Equipment and Materials
The table of "Equipment and Material" of a topic includes:
- The special tools and equipment necessary to do the maintenance task.
When the related tool or equipment is included in the Illustrated
Tools and Equipment Manual, it is identified with the location number
in this manual. The location number is as follows: ITEM xx-xx-xx.
- The consumable materials necessary to do the maintenance task. When
the related consumable material is included in the Consumable Material
List, it is indicated with the identification number in this list. The
identification number is as follows: Z-xx.xxx.

Units of Measurement
The measurements used in the manual are expressed as International System
of Units (SI) units followed by an Imperial Measurement Conversion. Where a
measurement, for example pressure, is read on an instrument installed to
the aircraft, only the units of measurement marked on the instrument face
are given. Some examples and explanation of the abbreviations used are:
