Instructions (Version 1)
1. The exam consists of two timed, individualized quizzes in Brightspace:
a. Quiz 1 focuses on circuit design covered by Sessions 1-6
b. Quiz 2 focuses on semiconductors and the basic circuits covered by sessions 7-9
Note: There may be some overlap, e.g., when a transistor is used in a circuit, and the
question is about the impact of the transistor's behavior on the circuit's behavior.

c. Each quiz has a 90-minute completion window, with a continually visible timer
indicating your remaining time. This timer initiates as soon as you begin the quiz.
d. For students entitled to extra time, the timer initiates at 105 minutes.
e. Quiz 1 opens at 18:30
f. Quiz 2 opens at 19:00
g. When you submit your responses once the quiz timer has expired, your outcome will
be marked as 'time limit exceeded.' However, you are granted a brief grace period,
not exceeding 10 minutes, to allow for stress-free submission of your quiz results
after the timer has concluded. In that case, there is no impact on your grade.
Make sure you can access Brightspace during the exam.
This examination is classified as an 'open book' test, permitting the use of your textbooks,
presentation slides, and personal notes. You are also allowed to employ a laptop or tablet to
access lecture materials and notes, but it's imperative that these devices are set to 'flight
mode'. Ensure all necessary content is available offline. It is crucial to emphasize that
discussing exam questions on social media is strictly prohibited.
To finish the quizzes, you must use the desktop computer provided in the examination hall
to access Brightspace.
When you are not registered in Osiris, the quizzes will not be available in Brightspace.
6. You must read and understand the Honors Pledge below:
“I, <student name> (<student number>), promise that I will not use unauthorized help from people or
other sources during my exam. I will create the answers independently, and I will create them only
during the allocated exam time slots.”
7. You must be present in the exam room at the time of quiz submission. You must submit the
Exam Information Form, indicating your departure time upon exiting the exam room. This
form will be provided to you during the exam.
8. The honors pledge is on the Exam Information Form, and handing in the form implies that
you agreed with the Honors Pledge and behaved accordingly.
9. After submission, your score will be shown. This score is not your grade (yet). The final
grades are determined after evaluation of the quality of the exam.
