INTRODUTION
This letter is an invitation to consider participating in a study I am conducting as part
of my Master1 degree in the Department of English Language and literature at
Mohamed Lamine Debaghine University under the supervision of Mr. Rafik Mosbah.
I would like to provide you with some information about this project and what your
involvement would entail if you decide to take part.
Please read the following information carefully.
PURPOSE OF STUDY
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of using digital storytelling on
developing third- year middle school pupils’ listening comprehension.
STUDY PROCEDURES
If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to do the following things.
First you will sit for a test in order to evaluate your level as regards listening
comprehension. Second you will be given a short story that matches your level to
listen, after weeks you will be tested to see whether there is any improvements or
changes in your listening comprehension skill.
Probably this study will last at least five weeks of using digital storytelling, twice per
week. In addition to the tests (pre-test, during, and post-test).
BENEFITS
There might be some benefits to you as regards your participation in this study.
First you will have the opportunity to acquire a large amount of vocabulary, also
your level will be developed and enhanced to the next level.
However, your participation may provide me with a better understanding of the topic
and help me in my research study.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Your responses to this research study will be anonymous. And participant data will be
kept confidential.
Please do not write any identifying information on your test papers. For the purposes
of this research study, your comments will be anonymous. Every effort will be made
by the researcher to preserve your confidentiality by assuring the following:


Assigning code names/numbers for participants that will be used on all
research notes and documents.
Keeping notes and any other identifying participant information in the
personal possession of the researcher.

as the result of participating in this study, or even you have questions regarding your
rights as a research participant, you may contact the researcher whose contact

VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
Your participation in this study is voluntary. It is up to you to decide whether or not to
take part in this study. If you decide to take part in this study, you will be asked to
sign a consent form. After you sign the consent form, you are still free to withdraw at
any time and without giving a reason. Withdrawing from this study will not affect the
relationship you have, if any, with the researcher. If you withdraw from the study
before data collection is completed, your data will be returned to you or destroyed.
CONSENT
I have read and I understood the provided information and have had the opportunity
to ask questions. I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I am free to
withdraw at any time, without giving a reason and without cost. I understand that I
will be given a copy of this consent form. I voluntarily agree to take part in this study.
