Expectations for Academic Success:
1.
You should create your own pacing guide, print it out, and keep it up to date. _______
2. If you have a question, email your teacher at any time using the INBOX link in the left course navigation
bar. Responses can be expected within 24 hours during regular business hours (8am- 5pm Pacific Time
M-F, excluding holidays). _____
3. Once registration for the course has closed, missing assignments will be marked late leading up to the
course end date. Late assignments will receive a zero in the grade book but may still be submitted until
the course end date. Upon submission, the zero will be replaced with the grade earned. _______
4. Assignment, quiz and test settings may differ. Review the assignment settings and applicable time and
submission limits before you begin. ______
5. The course must be completed in sequential order; this means that you cannot skip around. (You will not
be allowed to do the Module 2 assignments without having completed Module 1 assignments, etc.)
_____
6. You may not submit “placeholder” documents in lieu of submitting a completed assignment (in an effort
to bypass the prerequisite settings). If you are found doing this, your ability to submit future assignments
may be suspended; making this practice a habit (2 or more times) may result in a zero on the Final Exam.
______
7. Original work is expected. If academic integrity has been breached, a zero is earned and more severe
consequences may be enforced. See UC Scout Course Policies. _____
8. After reviewing the Course Observers at UC Scout page (in the Introduction Module), you must select a
course Observer to support your progress through your UC Scout course(s). ______
9. All required papers may be subject to submission for textual similarity review to Turnitin.com for the
detection of plagiarism. All submitted papers may be included as source documents in the Turnitin.com
reference database solely for the purpose of detecting plagiarism of such papers. You may submit your
papers in such a way that no identifying information about you is included. ______
ProctorU:
1.
At least two exams in this course will be proctored using ProctorU. Your initials on this line indicate
that you have reviewed the information provided in the ProctorU registration assignment, which
includes but is not limited to the following information:
○ ProctorU Live+ appointments must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance to avoid paying rush
fees. UC Scout will not reimburse any fees incurred. ______
○ Photo ID, microphone, and webcam are required. (Chromebooks are not compatible with
ProctorU Live+). ______
○ In a Live+ exam, the proctor must see you click submit before you end the proctoring session.
Failure to do so may result in a zero on the exam. ______
Term Limits:
1. UC Scout courses are self-paced and on-demand, but are subject to term end dates. The term limit is
indicated on your course home page. If you do not know the term limit, please ask your teacher. All
assignments, including the Final Exam, must be submitted by 11:59 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time) on
the last day of the term. You will lose access to the course 30 days after the last day of the term.______
This course term ends on: ___________________________ (write term end date here)
2. Extensions may be granted for extenuating or emergency circumstances only. See UC Scout Policies at
www.ucscout.org/content/uc-scout-policies if you believe you need a course extension. Do not wait
until the end of the term. Be prepared to provide current, applicable documentation at the time of your
request. The extension request period closes 1 week prior to the end of the term. ______
3. Submissions received in the last 10 business days of the term may not receive feedback or be eligible
for resubmission. ______
4. Transcript requests may take up to 10 business days for processing. See UC Scout Policies for more
information. ______
