Types of numbers:
Counting Numbers are
Whole numbers but
NOT including 0,
because we cannot
count zero- it has no
value. Counting
numbers simply are the
set of positive integers
used for counting and
ordering. They start
from 1 and continue
indefinitely in an
increasing sequence
Natural Numbers
Natural numbers are as same as
Counting numbers.
Integers
Integers are the collection of whole numbers
and negative numbers. Similar to whole
numbers, integers also does not include the
fractional part. Thus, we can say, integers are
numbers that can be positive, negative or zero,
but cannot be a fraction. We can perform all
the arithmetic operations, like addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division, on
integers. The examples of integers are,
1, 2, 5,8, -9, -12, etc. The symbol of
integers is “Z“.
Even Numbers
Even numbers are the
numbers which are exactly
divisible by 2. Even numbers
are those numbers that can
be divided into two equal
groups or pairs and are
exactly divisible by 2. All the
even numbers are and end
with- 0,2,4,6,8.
Odd Numbers
The numbers which are not
exactly divisible by 2. Odd
numbers are the numbers
that cannot be divided by 2
evenly. It cannot be divided
into two separate integers
evenly. If we divide an odd
number by 2, then it will
leave a remainder. Texamples

with 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. Odd
numbers are just the opposite
concept of even numbers.
Prime numbers
Prime numbers are natural
numbers that are divisible by
only 1 and the number itself.
In other words, prime
numbers are positive integers
greater than 1 with exactly
two factors, 1 and the
number itself. Some of the
prime numbers include 2, 3,
5, 7, 11, 13, etc. Always
remember that 1 is neither
prime nor composite. Also,
we can say that except for 1,
the remaining numbers are
classified as prime and
composite numbers. All prime
numbers are odd numbers
except 2, 2 is the smallest
prime number and is the
only even prime number.
Composite numbers
Composite numbers are
natural numbers that have
more than two factors.
Unlike prime numbers, which
have only two factors (1 and
the number itself), composite
numbers can be divided by at
least one other number
besides 1 and itself. For
example, the number 6 is a
composite number because it
has four factors: 1, 2, 3, and
6.

Roman Numbers
Roman Numerals is a special
kind of numerical notation
that was earlier used by the
Romans. The Roman numeral
is an additive and subtractive
system in which letters are
used to denote certain base
numbers and arbitrary
numbers in the number
system. An example of a
roman numeral is XLVII
which is equivalent to 47 in
numeric form. Roman
numerals are denoted using a
different combination of
symbols, that include the
English alphabet. For
example, 5 in roman
numeral is denoted by V. It
has wide applications in
naming anything such as
Class I, Class II, Class X, etc.

Whole Numbers are simply the
numbers starting from
(0….ꝏ) zero to infinite.
The whole numbers are the part of the number system which
includes all the positive integers from 0 to infinity. These
numbers exist in the number line. Hence, they are all real
numbers. We can say, all the whole numbers are real numbers,
but not all the real numbers are whole numbers. Thus, we can
define whole numbers as the set of natural numbers and 0.
Integers are the set of whole numbers and negative of natural
numbers. Hence, integers include both positive and negative
numbers including 0. Real numbers are the set of all these
types of numbers, i.e., natural numbers, whole numbers etc.
