Landscape Drawing Guidelines 9/15/25
1. Open the Landscape Drawing Template (Attached or Detached). Save to the corresponding
house in the “Projects” folder (similar to the Detached Footprint drawing)
a. Filename should be “HOUSENAME_SET_VERSION_LDSC”
2. Open the corresponding house Footprint file (detached product) or Foundation Strips (attached
product) and copy into the Landscape drawing.
3. Open the Landscape Type DART Report to identify the Landscape Type for the house you are
drawing
a. For Side Entry Garage – Additional plants listed in the 2 categorys below are used to
cover the front wall of the side entry garage.
i. Use “Added SideEntryGar or Rm w/add’l 20’-22’ frontage only” when the front
wall of the garage is less than 10’ from the front wall of the rest of the house
(either porch, stoop or main house wall)
ii. Use “Added SideEntryGar or Rm w/add’l 20’-22’ frontage & >10’ depth” when
the front wall of the garage is greater than 10’ from the front wall of the rest of
the house (either porch, stoop or main house wall)

4. Use the landscape blocks drawing for content
a. PROJECTS\CONTENT\BLOCKS\11_Landscaping\Landscaping.dwg
b. Each Landscape Type is pre-drawn with the correct number of plants that are needed
for the Basic “6LA” and the Standard “6LB” options (we will not use the “6LC” option)
5. Copy the content for the Landscape type (6LA and 6LB) into your landscape drawing.
6. Use the grid in model space to separate by option and elevation. Viewports are set up on the
sheets according to the grid for minimal modification
a. Double check the foundation plans to verify if any special conditions exist in the house,
like Side Entry Garage or Side Attached Garage
7. Only one elevation shown per sheet, (for 6LA and 6LB) unless the contour of the house is the
same, like elevations A & K or B & L
a. Generic tabs are pre-set in the template

8. Identify with note and leader each type of plant and the bed line
a. Plant note and leader = layer 11T
b. Driveway / Walkway = layer 20
c. Bed line = layer 12
d. House outline = layer 10
9. Copy the schedule in model space of the Landscape drawing to each elevation and option
a. After plants have been placed at each elevation and option, update each schedule by
reselecting only those plants for that elevation or option
10. Make a multipage PDF of the drawings and place into Projects Support folder (the same location
that the Engineering, Roof Vent, Light & Vent and Volume Calcs are kept)
a. The filename of the PDF should also be “HOUSENAME_SET_VERSION_LDSC”
11. ASD Coordinators - Upload to sharepoint on the “Product Documents” page (the same location
that the Engineering, Roof Vent, Light & Vent and Volume Calcs are uploaded)
*Florida or NV products will NOT BE INCLUDED in this process.
