Reflexive Verben und Pronomen
Reflexive Pronomen in German are pronouns used when the subject and the object of a
sentence are the same person or thing. They refer back to the subject and are used primarily
with reflexive verbs.
In other words, a reflexive pronoun shows that the subject of the sentence is performing an
action on itself.
The reflexive pronoun indicates that the action does not affect another person or object but
returns to the subject.
β€ Example: Ich wasche mich. (I wash myself.)

The Reflexive pronouns are the same as in the Akkusativ Case.
1.β Reflexive pronoun of 1. And 2. Person singular and plural are the same as

2.β Reflexive pronoun of 3 person singular and plural is only sich.
πΉ 4. Types of Reflexive Verbs
A. Mandatory (echte) Reflexive Verbs
These always need a reflexive pronoun. Without it, the sentence is incorrect.

B. Teilreflexive Verben?
Teilreflexive Verben are verbs that can be used with a reflexive pronoun, but don’t
have to be.
These verbs are not always reflexive. They can take:
ββ a reflexive pronoun → when the action is directed at yourselfβ
ββ a normal accusative object → when the action is directed at someone or
something elseβ
Beispiele:
1.β Ich ärgere mich.β
→ I am annoying myself (reflexive use)β
Subject = Object
2.β Ich ärgere die Lehrerin.β
→ I am annoying the teacher (not reflexive)β
Subject ≠ Object
