Unit 3.1: Living Things Including Plants
Duration:1-4 weeks




Describe differences between living, once alive, and never-lived things.
Understand life processes (nutrition, growth, movement, reproduction).
Identify plant needs (light, water, temperature) and functions of plant parts (roots, stems,
leaves, flowers).
Explore fossils as remains of once-living organisms.
Unit 3.2: Forces and Magnetism
Duration:5-8 weeks




Define friction and measure forces using force meters.
Compare friction on smooth/rough surfaces.
Identify magnetic/non-magnetic materials.
Describe magnetic poles (attract/repel).
Unit 3.3: States of Matter
Duration: 9-12 weeks



Classify materials as solids, liquids, or gases.
Separate mixtures (sieving, filtering, magnets).
Understand dissolving (soluble vs. insoluble solids).
