In this interview we see the love of life coming out of Ray Bradbury by the way that
he allows every little action or happening influence his creativity. He talked about how the
interaction between him and the cop inspired the writing of one of his first major hits. How
that one little action between two strangers allowed Ray to change his life forever. Even
though very insignificant for the cop the impact it had on his life was inconceivable. The
way that he loves life, and is full of it, really resonated with me and it felt inspiring. It's
amazing how he keeps such an open mind to everything happening around him with a
smile on his face. He embodies the Philosophical mood by being someone who takes
everything head on and allows everything to be a story and to let the creativity flow through
him.
Another way that we can see him demonstrate his wide-eyed embrace to the world
is by the simple ways that he writes his books. He immerses himself in the past and
everything he has learned and read and lets that guide his future. He mentioned that when
he does write, he allows others to write through him like he is just a doorway. He allows all
the other books that he’s read to influence his own writing, from Hamlet, to Romeo and
Juliet. The part that amazed me the most is the way his face lit up when he was talking
about all the different characters that allowed him to do what he does best. The Joy that he
had when describing how he unintentionally became a poet just by doing what he loved.
Ray Bradbury in my opinion is a very inspiring man that everyone should look up to. Simply
because of the way that he looks at the world. He allows all the love in his heart to be open
for everyone to see. He did what he had to do to get to where he was and let no one else
stop him from doing what he loved, and he never forgot why he fell in love with books and
the characters within them.
