Overview This document provides recommended baseline inspection/maintenance schedules for Triangle VFFS machines. 1. As each item is inspected, repair and/or replace components and assemblies as required. 2. These maintenance procedures address specific areas on the Triangle VFFS bag machine. The user servicing the equipment should also check for any additional damaged and/or worn items not covered by these procedures. 3. This suggested schedule is meant only as initial guidance. Schedules may need to be altered depending on the specific application and environmental conditions. 4. For machines with ultrasonic jaws, resurfacing or replacement of ultrasonic components should be performed as required for the specific application. Schedules for these actions should be determined after the first two or three cycles, based upon wear of the components. 5. Heater cables should be hand-tightened only. Over-tightening heater cables will cause damage. NOTE: All OEM equipment must be serviced following OEM standards. 6. Safety Personal Protective Equipment Final determination of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements is the responsibility of the end user. Triangle Package Machinery Company recommends the use of hearing and eye protection and gloves for most activities. Safety Information The end user is responsible for following all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including but not limited to: 1. Lockout/Tagout – All procedures requiring conformance to OSHA LOTO requirements as specified in 29 CFR section 147 are identified. It is the responsibility of the end user to lock out and tag the machine prior to maintenance when necessary. 2. NFPA 70E – Procedures involving close approach to live electrical components, such as those procedures involving working inside the main electrical enclosure, will require conformance to current NFPA 70E safety specifications, particularly for arc flash protection. Conformance to NFPA 70E requirements is the responsibility of the end user. 3. GHS SDS – Strictly follow all end user company MSDS/SDS policies when working with chemicals, including lubricants, and cleaning solutions. | MAN10000 | Revision: 5 | Release: 8/12/2019 | Page 5 of 47 7.
