Standards

Objective:
 SWBAT identify and understand the meaning of new vocabulary words (park, museum, zoo, aquarium,
festival) in English and Chinese by using visuals and context.
 SWBAT write simple sentences using the provided sentence frame: “I want to ___ the ___ this summer.”
 SWBAT engage in collaborative discussions by repeating target words and sharing their ideas with partners
and groups.

Teacher Action: Play a 1–2 minute
lively video of children enjoying
summer activities (park, zoo,
aquarium, etc.). After the video, do a
“Stand Up If…” game:
Teacher says: “Stand up if you like
the zoo!” / “Stand up if you want to
go to a festival!” Students stand and
say the sentence pattern: “I want to
visit the zoo this summer.”
Student Action: Call out activities
they recognize. Teacher writes them
on the board.

Procedure
Method
Role-play “Travel Agents & Tourists.
Half the class = travel agents with
place cards.
Half = tourists with verb cards (visit,
enjoy, explore).
Students walk around, match a verb
with a place, and speak the sentence:
“I want to explore the aquarium this
summer.”
After a few minutes, switch roles.
Teacher Action: Monitor pairs, help
with pronunciation, encourage full
sentences.
Student Action: Interact in pairs,
create new sentences each round.
4. Production (15 min) You Do
Procedure
Dream Summer Trip Journal.
Each student receives a worksheet
with 3 prompts:
I want to ___ the ___ this summer.
I will ___ there.
I will enjoy/explore ___.
Students write and draw their
answers to create a mini “travel
journal entry.” Volunteers share
entries aloud in small groups or with
the whole class.
Teacher Action: Model with a simple
journal entry on the board. Provide
word bank for support.
Student Action: Write, draw, and
share their “dream trip.”
5. Plenary (5 min) We Do
Procedure

Students mark a world or classroom
map with the place they want to
visit.
Underneath, they write their
