Actively participate in your learning by preparing for workshops, completing required activities, and asking questions to improve your understanding. Practice good time management and plan sufficient study time to listen to the lecture recordings/podcasts, do the readings, prepare notes, and complete all assessment items. Maintain regular communication with the teaching staff and your peers to clarify any questions and assist in the collaborative learning process. 3.1.1 Learning approach underpinning unit Attendance at workshops is required. Please advise your workshop facilitator in advance if you cannot attend a workshop. Global Strategic Management Page 7 of 18 This unit uses experiential learning and problem-solving learning strategies. This means you learn through active participation and relating your learning to your experiences. Sessions combine a topic overview, discussions and case analysis, group exercises, simulations, and experiential or skill development exercises. The sessions aim to assist you in developing your open-mindedness, inquiry skills (reading, active listening, observation, critical thinking), balanced self-analysis, empathy, communication, and teamwork, which are fundamental skills for managing complex contemporary organisational issues. The sessions have a series of activities that students complete in groups. If you cannot attend a workshop or study with others, you should attempt all exercises yourself and complete all activities available on the LMS. Your study time is most effective if you are prepared and participate consistently. 3.1.2 Unit changes in response to student feedback This unit has been adapted to accommodate student preferences for more online learning. Additional activities have been developed to support student engagement with the process of learning. Student feedback is encouraged and always appreciated via email to the Unit Coordinator. Feedback collected from student feedback surveys at the end of the semester is considered when the unit is reviewed for the following semester. Course content is continuously evaluated throughout the teaching period when it is delivered each week. Improvements identified during delivery are notated and considered when the unit is reviewed and updated the following semester. Previous students have provided us with feedback to improve this unit. Please help us continue this feedback cycle by completing your own unit survey which will open toward the end of teaching. You can find your Myfeedback surveys at http://myfeedback.murdoch.edu.au/. 3.1.2 What you need to know Generic information students need to know is available on the "What you need to know" web page.
