Task 1: Individual students are to give an example and explain how a person might try to
live a healthy lifestyle. (Whole class).
Task 2: Clip task and fill out table – students to watch the video clip (see PPT slide 4)
and add five pieces of advice on how to be healthy to each column. Students are to number
each of the factors 1-5 in each column based on how easy they believe they are for them
to achieve personally (5 most hard, 1 most easy). Explain the reasoning behind the top and
bottom choices.
Task 3: Students to focus on personal improvement and create their own Personalised
Healthy Life Plans.
Task 4 (Optional): Venn diagram – Students to note down what they think each of
the terms in the circles mean and what we could study in relation to this throughout this
topic.
Adaptive teaching point: Students should refer to the scaffolded literacy guide and sentence starters on the
PowerPoint slides. Where required, make amendments to the resources to better suit the needs of your students.
