In person assignment 2
I consider my openness to experience my most critical personality
trait for my past and current success. I am always open to trying new
things, and if something doesn’t work for me, I will change things up until I
succeed. I try to look at things from a wide perspective and try to
understand multiple different sides instead of sticking to only my personal
opinions. Being able to open myself to different thoughts and different
points of view allows me to not only learn more, but relate more to people,
and be able to understand why people think the way they do which helps
me connect with people deeper. My openness allows me to succeed in
different scenarios and not crumble under pressure or change. And even
though I don’t particularly like change, I’m able to adapt and overcome it
regardless of the situation. Now on the other hand, I think my low
extraversion has been critical for a lot of my failures. I have missed a lot of
opportunities because of my fear of interacting with others. I will stay quiet
and not participate during classes, ill ignore social or professional events
on campus, and pass up on different opportunities because of my shyness
and fear of public speaking. I have thankfully improved and continue to
improve my extrovertedness every single day, thanks to my job and
classes, but there’s still so much room for me to grow. If im able to
overcome my introvertedness I will be able to succeed a lot more than I
currently am, and I will open the door for so many experiences for myself.
