With a commitment to delivering patient-centered care, the hospital has established itself as a trusted medical facility in the city. SR AIMS Hospital provides services in general medicine, surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, critical care, diagnostics, and emergency response. The hospital operates with a well-qualified team of doctors, nurses, technical staff, and administrative personnel. As healthcare demand in urban areas like Shaikpet continues to rise, SR AIMS Hospital has steadily expanded both its medical infrastructure and human resources. The Human Resource Administration department plays a critical role in maintaining workforce quality and ensuring that each department is staffed with suitable personnel. Initial interviews are a key component of the hospital’s recruitment process. These interviews help in screening candidates based on academic background, experience, communication skills, attitude, and fitment to the healthcare environment. Following this, departmental allocation is carried out based on hospital requirements and the candidate's suitability for specific roles such as nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, front desk, or ward administration. Given the sensitive and high-pressure nature of hospital work, placing the right person in the right department is crucial for effective hospital operations, patient care, and employee satisfaction. This study is aimed at understanding how the HR administration at SR AIMS Hospital conducts initial interviews and strategically assigns staff to departments. The goal is to evaluate current practices, identify gaps if any, and suggest improvements for better efficiency in HR operations. Introduction Human Resource (HR) Administration plays a vital role in the effective functioning of any organization. Among its many responsibilities, two key functions are conducting initial interviews and ensuring proper departmental allocation of selected candidates. These processes are essential for hiring the right talent and placing them in roles where they can perform efficiently and contribute to the organization's goals. Initial interviews serve as the first level of candidate screening and evaluation. This stage helps HR professionals assess a candidate’s qualifications, communication skills, attitude, and cultural fit. A well-structured initial interview process can save time and resources by identifying suitable candidates early in the hiring pipeline. Departmental allocation is the next important step after candidate selection. It involves assigning new employees to the appropriate departments based on their educational background, technical skills, work experience, and the specific needs of the organization. A correct match between the candidate and the department enhances productivity, job satisfaction, and reduces employee turnover. This study aims to understand the methods, strategies, and challenges involved in conducting initial interviews and making departmental allocations. It also focuses on identifying how HR administrators can improve the overall recruitment and placement process to build a strong and capable workforce. 1.1 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY To understand the process of initial interviews in the HR department.
