Electric Self-Heating Cup Proposal
Problem Statement
Hot beverages often cool down too quickly, especially in cold environments or during long
working/study sessions. Reheating using conventional appliances is inconvenient, energy-inefficient,
and unavailable in mobile settings.
Proposed Solution
We propose an Electric Self-Heating Cup that maintains the desired temperature of beverages using
built-in temperature sensors and a rechargeable battery-powered heating element. The cup includes
a touch interface to set the temperature, an auto-shutoff safety feature, and a mobile app via
Bluetooth for remote control and monitoring. It is designed to be spill-proof, easy to clean, and
environmentally sustainable with recyclable materials. This product is ideal for students,
professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts who need their drinks to stay hot on the go without relying on
external heating sources.
Innovation Uniqueness
Unlike standard thermal mugs, this cup actively maintains temperature and is app-controlled with
real-time sensor feedback for precision heating.
Feasibility
The design uses readily available components like lithium-ion batteries, nichrome heating coils, and
microcontrollers, making prototyping and scaled production viable.
Innovative Impact to Stakeholders and Eco System
It promotes convenience, reduces waste from reheating in microwaves, and supports sustainable
practices through energy efficiency and reusable design.
