Scope:
This Method determine the resistance of the color of textiles of all kinds and in all forms to the action
of human Saliva.

Test Procedure:
Reagent:
Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate (MgCl2.6H2O)
0.17 g/L
Calcium Chloride Dihydrate (CaCl2.2H2O))
0.15 g/L
Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
0.33 g/L
Potassium Chloride (KCl)
0.75 g/L
Potassium Carbonate (K2CO3)
0.53 g/L
DiPotassium Hydrogen OrthoPhosphate.3H2O
0.76 g/L
6.8 (±0.1)
Add 1.0% HCl to adjust pH
Solution pH:
● Pre-heat the test device in the oven @ 37 ± 2°C for at least 30 min.
● Lay out a composite specimen smoothly in a flat-bottomed dish and cover with solution.
Thoroughly wet the composite specimen in this solution at a liquor ratio of 50:1,
and allow it to remain in the solution at room temperature for 30 min
● Remove the specimen from the solution & remove the excess solution by using glass rods.
Testing
Procedure:
● Lay it out between two glass/acrylic resin plates and place in the test device.
● If less than 10 specimens are prepared, all 11 plates must still be used to maintain the correct
nominal pressure.
● Place the dead weight on top of the perspirometer and lock the top plate assembly in place with
the screws provided Than remove the dead weight.
● Lay the test device in the preheated oven. Close the door and set the timer for 4 hours.
● After 4 hours remove the test device from the oven and immediately remove the specimens and
dry them.
Dryeing
Procedure:
Assessment:
Dry the specimen by hanging it in air @ below 60°C Temperature, with the
parts in contact only at the line of stitching.
