The Magic Numbers of Numberland
Once upon a time, in a bright and cheerful place called Numberland, lived a group of
happy numbers. They were colorful, clever, and full of fun!
There was One, the smallest but very brave. Two loved to play games with pairs. Three
told jokes all day, and Four was always building blocks. All the way up to Ten, the wisest
of them all, who kept everyone safe and organized.
Every number had a special power. For example:

Two could make everything double.

Five loved to high-five and count fingers.
•
Nine had a magic trick—if you added its digits, they always made nine again!
But one day, something strange happened.
The numbers woke up to find Zero missing!
“Oh no!” cried One, “Zero may be small, but without Zero, we can’t make ten or
hundred or one thousand!”
The numbers searched all over Numberland—behind the addition trees, over the
subtraction hills, and even under the multiplication bridge. But Zero was nowhere.
Suddenly, they heard a soft whisper from the Puzzle Cave.
They all tiptoed in and saw Zero sitting sadly.
“What’s wrong, Zero?” asked Ten kindly.
Zero sighed, “I feel like I don’t matter. I’m just… nothing.”
The numbers gasped!
“Not true!” said Ten. “You help me exist! Without you, I would just be One.”
“And I become twenty when I stand beside you!” added Two.
“You’re a hero in counting,” said One, “and when we add you, we don’t change—but
when we multiply by you, you make everything disappear!”
“That’s real power!” said Eight with wide eyes.
Zero smiled. “Really? You all think I’m important?”
“Absolutely!” the numbers shouted.
Zero bounced up with joy, and the numbers danced around happily. They formed new
numbers together and played counting games until the stars twinkled above.
And from that day on, Zero knew:
Even nothing can be something special.
