CAR V covers aw regulations .Under CAR V published by GCAA UAE has CAR M describes the
requirements for CAW.The CAW is a responsibility of the owner then it’s passed down to the
lessee and finaly during maintenance input the responsibility shall be passed to AMO who
execute the Work package.
The continuing airworthiness shall be maintained by pre flight inspection.This can be a
walk around inspection, using a check list that is identified as zones or stations. Nomally the
wlak around innspections are performed by mechanics and certified by an authorized staff.They
will start the wlak around near to L1 door from the left hand , inspect the general condition of
the doors, pitot/static ports , green disc of the oxygen discharge indicator , then to the nose
wheels area , wings , angines and back to where the inspection started and then will proceed the
check in the cockpit and cabin.
In the cabin the
operation of both emergency and the operational items are ensured by , checking flash light,life
vest,megaphone etc condition and the operation.
When the aircraft is performing maintenance in
accordance with AMP(approved maintenance program) ensures that the operator follows the
manufacturer (Airbus or Boeing ) recommended maintenance activities described in the
MPD(manufacturer planning document).This includes daily, weekly checks upto and not limited
to A,C, D checks.
Also it is important
that the operator shall accomplish AD(airworthiness directives) when time to time issued by
GCAA.The Ads shall be completed within the specified period , if not the Airworthiness of the
Aircraft is expired.AD s address a potential safety hazard that may encounter during operations.
At the same time the operator may have to embody SB(service bulletins) that gives the
any potential product improvement.
Any defect/faults rises in the aircraft shall be logged in the
technical log books and rectified as necessary. In the event if the defects cannot be rectified ,
then MEL shall applied accordingly with intervals ., A B C and D.
Above mentioned tasks shall be performed to ensure the
continuing airworthiness of the aircraft. And the tasks will help to keep the aircraft in the safe to
fly “fit to fly conditions” during it’s operational life
