Materials:
Dry Rigatoni Pasta
Noodles
Craft Paint (5 colors of
your choice)
Colorful wooden beads
Plastic Bags
Paint Brushes (to grade
up)
String (thick or thin)
Description:
Work on your child’s fine motor skills through a creative necklace making activity.
Child will thread colorful wooden beads and pasta on string to create a personal
necklace.
Place ½ cup of dry pasta into Ziplock bag
Add a few squirts of craft paint into the Ziplock bag
Seal Ziplock bag to shake and massage with fingers until pasta is covered and
colorful!
Place pasta on parchment paper to dry completely.
Repeat steps for additional colors
Place wooden beads on tray/bowl
Cut string 24” – 32 “ depending on length preference (while ensuring it can fit over
child’s head)
After pasta is dried, string a unique pattern incorporating wooden beads
Tie a knot to seal the necklace when complete + viola! You now have a custom
designed necklace.

Coordination of the action of hands and eyes together in
performing precise manipulative movements utilizing
structures of hand.
Performance Skills
Motor Skills: aligns, positions, manipulates, grips,
coordinates, calibrates, flows and paces.
Process Skills: paces, attends, heeds,chooses, uses,
handles, initiates and continues
Easier: Use wooden beads with larger holes. Use thicker
string.
Harder: Use wooden beads with smaller holes.U se
thinner string.
Add option to paint half of pasta using a paintbrush to
give it a color block look.
Ability to pick up and hold objects with hand using a
pincer/tip pinch grasp.
