RUWAIS
Describe your emirate.
Where is it located?
Ruwais is located in Abu Dhabi, it’s a small town
in the outskirts of the emirate. It’s located in the
west
What is your town best known for?
It is best known for its oil industry. Mainly families of
ADNOC workers live there, so there are schools
and parks for the children, a mall or families, and
restaurants and family clubs for families to enjoy.
There is even a beach. However it’s mainly known
for its oil industry.
How has your town changed over time?
What local services can be found?
Ruwais is a very remote are in general, however
over time it’s built a big park, 3 schools. They have
developed their oil industry and workers. Although,
COVID had hit them very hard, they had to fire a lot
of foriegn workers, sending workers back to their
home country.
There are ADNOC schools, and other government
facilities. There are malls, beaches, clubs for
families, restaurants and etc. There are a lot of
activities for people to do. In the image below,
there is shown a big park in Ruwais.
RUWAIS
TOUR
I would take them to Al Dhannah
mall. It has a cinema, multiple
stores, a supermarket and a
Starbucks.
What parts of Ruwais would you show
to a first timer?
Then, I would take them to the
central park. There a good cafe, and
kids playing around everywhere. It’s
a really beautiful place to spend
time.
Then, I would take them to the
Furnace restaurant. It would be a
good place to eat food and enjoy
Indian food.
