Game called “He Did It!”
Little boy named Johnny
Little brother ~ something expensive was broken
Sister ~ ate all the cookies
Dog ~ didn’t do his homework
It’s so easy to blame someone else when we’ve done something wrong.
Why do we do that?
Get in trouble
Worst thing is thinking you’ve disappointed Mom or Dad
Parents won’t love
Parents always love us and forgive us
Rules: God’s and parents’
Love and honor God and parents
To be nice to each other: don’t lie, or steal, cheat or say bad things
These rules shouldn’t be hard to follow ~ but!
God always knows what we’ve done, but we still try to hide when we break God’s rules.
Why do we do that?
Get in trouble
Afraid that God is disappointed and won’t love us
God always loves us.
John 3:16
Easter is all about how much God loves us.
God loves us so much He’ll do anything so we can be forgiven and live with Him
On a day long ago called Good Friday Jesus died on a cross
And three days later on a day called Easter Jesus became alive again.
God did all of this because He loves us so much
so our sins can be forgiven and we can live with Him forever!
Now, Johnny will still have to apologize to Mom and little brother and sister, to help
make more cookies, and do his homework but his mom and brother and sister have
forgiven him because they love him.
Easter is about God’s love for us
Jesus died on Good Friday so God can forgive us when we do
wrong things
So you and I can live with God forever.
We know this because the Bible says Jesus loves us so much He died for
the things we do wrong, so much He said, “I did it. I love you so much I
will take your punishment so God can forgive you and you can live with
Him forever!”
Jesus says “I love you and I did it!”
