Arun is reflecting on how he has changed as a result of some research his group carried
out into the problem of child labour. Read his reflection below.
Before we started out research about child lab our, I thought that it was just something
from history. But then I read that children work long hours making things we buy like
footballs and mobile phones. This made me realise that this is a serious issue and we
will only find a solution to this problem if people start asking some serious questions.
So, I am going to ask on the company’s website if they know for sure that no children
worked on their product.

Arun is talking about a problem that his group had while they were carrying out a
teamwork activity.
Everyone except Marcus had already agreed to do one of the tasks on their own, but no
one wanted to write the questionnaire or make the stickers. Zara tried to get Marcus to
do one of these tasks, but he refused. When Sofia asked him what he wanted to do, he
said that he wanted to make some slides about plastic pollution to show on a laptop as
part of our stall. This was not on out list of tasks, but Sofia said that it will make our stall
look more attractive, so we agreed to let Marcus do it. We still had not found anyone to
make the questionnaire or the stickers, so I suggested that all of us should work
together to do these tasks. The others agreed, but Marcus still refused. Then Zara
pointed out that it was unfair because everyone else was doing three tasks, but he was
only doing one. He finally agreed to help the rest of us make the stickers.
