Experiment 1: Object in Equilibrium
Guide Questions.
1. Given two vectors(forces) F1 = 200g; 3150 and F2 = 300g; 500. Determine the
resultant vector using
a) Graphical or Parallelogram Method. (Make a sketch)
b) Components Method. (Make a sketch)
c) Compare your results from a) and b) by calculating the percentage error.
2. Given three vectors(forces) F1 = 200g; 3150, F2 = 300g; 500 and F3 = 400g; 1580.
Determine the resultant vector using
a) Graphical or Parallelogram Method. (Make a sketch)
b) Resolution or Components Method. (Make a sketch)
c) Compare your results from a) and b) by calculating the percentage error.
3. Experimentally determine the Equilibrant of F1 and F2 using force table and
compare your result with the result in #1 part b).
