The activity points can be earned by working in rural places and coming out with technological initiatives to overcome, mitigate, or to beat the civic problems in the country. Activities prescribed by AICTE include: Helping local schools to achieve good results and enhancing their enrolment in higher or technical or vocational education. Preparing an actionable business proposal / implementable plan for enhancing the village income. Developing sustainable water management system Tourism promoting innovative approaches Promotion of appropriate technologies Reduction in energy consumption To skill rural people Facilitating 100% digitized money transactions Educating and empowering women Developing and managing efficient garbage disposal system To assist the marketing of rural produce. Food preservation and packaging Automation of local activities Spreading local awareness under rural outreach programs Contributing to any national level initiative like Digital India, Skill India and Swachh Bharat. In this connection this report presents a detailed account of activities taken up or participated by me during the four years of joining (2021-2025) to this Institute. To realize this, I joined the Youth For seva. I was mentored by Supreeth Sir My active participation included the following: Swachh Bharat related activities in Kyathsandhra, Tumakuru district. Helping the students of Class 10 to learn and excel in the board exams. Cleaning temple premises at Siddaganga mutt, Tumakuru. Educating the people of Dhummansur village, Humnabad taluk, Bidar district on importance of keeping hygiene, effects of consuming polluted water, and spreading awareness about some of the water borne diseases. Finally, my active involvement in the above said activities has surely brought in a balance between full-fledged academics and societal activities and has led to stronger understanding of their capabilities. This has surely helped me in building the self-assurance needed to take on more challenges. Apart from this I have also gained confidence as a result of participating and involving with rural people and people in distress. This has provided me to improve my leadership qualities, and participation in diverse groups, and team spirits. 7 SIDDAGANGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES LOGSHEET AY 2021-2022 (Odd/Even) Semester 1st Number of students in group Admission year 2021 Certificate Number 1. 60 Date Details of day wise activities Title of the Activity : SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN Mention day/s Number of hours/day Total number of hours Points 15 days 2 hours/day 50 hours 7.5 points Brief Description of the Activity: SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN The Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) has changed the behavior of hundreds of millions of people with respect to toilet access and usage. 500 million people have stopped defecating in the open since 2014, down from 550 million to less than 50 million today. A tremendous achievement, only possible because of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) (Clean India Campaign), led by the Prime Minister. Even with these impressive figures, it is vital that social and behavioral change communication approaches keep pace with the service delivery to ensure that families receiving toilets continue to use them regularly. We as a part of Swachh Bharat Mission were all set to clean the areas and make the country clean and green. We were divided in different troops and were allotted with different areas in the same locality to clean the particular areas. We were provided with garbage bags and gloves to collect the garbage and dump it a proper place. We started cleaning from Kyathsandra. We walked in the streets, on roadsides and collected the waste. We made the people in the locality aware about the garbage collection and the Swachh Bharat Mission and also urged them to follow the same. We also advised the shopkeepers to keep the dustbins outside the shops and told them about the wet waste and dry waste. Also the people cooperated with us in taking the pledge to make the nation clean and green. 8 9 SIDDAGANGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES LOGSHEET AY 2019 – 2020 (Odd/Even) Semester 4th Admission year 2019 Number of students in group Certificate Number 6 Date 2. Chiguru which translates to “budding” is a flagship initiative by Youth for Seva created by Youth for Seva to bring out the artist in every child. It provides a strong and unique platform for students from Government schools and learning centers to showcase their inbuilt talents in various forms of arts. YFS believes that every child has a unique inbuilt talent which cannot be taught, it can only be awakened. Chiguru also provides meaningful volunteering opportunity to individuals igniting a sense of empathy & individual social responsibility among the volunteers. Our northern chapters conduct this event as Navoudit. Chiguru provides a rare platform to Government school children to overcome their stage-fear and build confidence. It is an event where more than 2500 children share one ground to interact, share knowledge and build healthy team spirit. Self-Confidence is the best outfit, rock it and own it It all started in January, 2020. We started the journey of seva. We had visited many different schools wherein all of us were engaged in many activities like sports, art and craft; cultural so on and so forth. Different teams were made for different areas. There was a sense of belongingness and responsibility. We chose to donate time over weekdays and weekends, in projects that value our skill set and interest. I with my teammates was engaged in cultural and particularly dance performances. We visited many Government schools and helped the students to showcase their dancing talent. We visited the schools namely, GHPS Talapurke, GHPS Yellapura, GHPS Paschima Badavane, Aryabalika school, Sita school, Empress girls high school and other Government schools. We briefed the students their about the programme and told them about the competition and encouraged them to take part in the same. All the students were very cooperative and in turn supported us to make the seva fruitful. The students were enthusiastic to learn new things and share their old stories. The little ones with simplicity, with dreams and with a proper vision were all set to make the programme successful. We visited various schools on different days. We were given different 10 themes for dance practice viz, Patriotism, Women empowerment, Nationalism so on and so forth. The active participation of the students and their interest made us work more for the event. The before the event we also decorated the stage for the programme. We along with other YFS volunteers and the members of organisation did the needful for the next day. The event was conducted at ‘BHARAT MATA ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL’ on ‘2 February, 2020’. Breakfast was also arranged for the school students and faculty members, and soon after that the event was started. On the day of event, HOD Department of Civil Engineering, SIT, Dr.S.V.Dinesh sir arrived at the spot and motivated the children to participate and also congratulated them for the programme. All the competitions were done and it was prize distribution. We the volunteers were also privileged to distribute the prizes to the winners and fill the students with a great zeal and happiness. 11 12 SIDDAGANGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES LOGSHEET AY 2022 – 2023(Odd/Even) Semester 4th Admission year 2020 Number of students in group Certificate Number 4 Date 3.
