Spoken Poetry Contest for Women's Month
Guidelines:
1. Theme:
o The poem should align with the celebration of
Women’s Month, focusing on themes such as
empowerment, equality, resilience, achievements,
struggles, and contributions of women in society.
2. Originality:
o The spoken poetry must be an original composition
of the performer. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
3. Language:
o The poem can be in English, the local language, or a
mix of both, as long as it effectively conveys the
message. Offensive or derogatory language is not
allowed.
4. Duration:
o The performance should be between 3 to 5 minutes.
Exceeding the time limit may lead to deductions in
points.
5. Delivery and Expression:
o Spoken poetry should be performed with clarity,
emotion, and confidence. Body language, facial
expressions, and voice modulation should enhance
the message.
6. Content Sensitivity:
o The poem should be respectful and appropriate for a
general audience, ensuring it does not promote hate,
discrimination, or explicit content.
7. Performance Props:
o Minimal use of props is allowed, but the focus should
remain on the spoken word.
