Consequences of Smoking
This speech is about the consequences of smoking presented by Nicole Smith. It is about the
illness that comes with smoking. Nicole is against the people smoke in front of people that
don’t use to smoke.
Where did the speech take place?
The speech took place in an auditorium of Ploton Convention Center. He was using a podium
and he was alone, however there was just one person helping him with the power point and
some pictures that he was showing about illness caused by smoking. He was using a
microphone because the auditorium was so big and there was almost 3000 person.
Did the speaker use a persuasive plan?
Yes he did. He stated doing an explanation about how could a person change from a common
smoker to addict. He had a lot of information just to convince the audience that smoking is not
good for people. Some times he used notes just to refer some articles in magazines and
newspaper.
Describe the nature of the speech itself and what was the persuasive premise was?
The people don’t need to smoke. It was the premise that Nicole was using in order to convince
the people. He explained step by step how smoking destroys the lung.
Was the speaker persuasive? Do you believe the impact of the speech would have been
different had it been delivered by someone else?
Yes he was. One of the parts of the speech that was so powerful was when Nicolas showed
some pictures about the effect of smoking in a pregnant. The baby that she gave born was not
normal. The baby was born blame a consequence of smoking. When the people that were in
the auditorium saw the pictures, they were impacted a lot. Maybe someone else could present
the same speech but it won’t be the same impact in our life.
What about the speech would you have changed, if anything?
I have changed a lot of thing in my daily life. For example, if I am at the same place that
someone that is smoking, I have to take care and go away from him because it is dangerous for
me even I don’t smoke. If I could give some suggestion to some smoker, it will be; try to don’t
smoke.
