ACTIVITY IN STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY
Solve the following problems: (Construct the normal curve) Use yellow paper for
your answers. Submit this output afterwards.
1. The weights of bags of red gravel may be modelled by a normal
distribution with mean 25.8 kilograms and standard deviation of 0.5
kilogram.
a. Determine the probability that a randomly selected bag of red
gravel will weigh:
i. Less than 25 kilograms
ii. Between 25.5 kilograms and 26.5 kilograms
2. The heights of grade 11 ABM female students of Tanauan NHS have a
mean of 168.0 cm and a standard deviation of 4.5 cm. The heights can
be modelled by a normal distribution.
a. Find the probability that the height of a randomly selected female
students enrolled in this school is:
i. Less than 172.5 cm.
ii. Between 159 cm. and 163.5 cm
