IELTS 8.5 Daily Plan
Prepared by a triple 8.5 holder (Alisher
Abduvohobov)
Listening 9.0
Listen a lot in English. As much as possible.
Whether that be podcasts, YouTube videos, and
movies, listening to English content every day
dramatically improves your understanding of the
language. Don’t know where to start? Just go to
YouTube and choose whichever interview or podcast
you want and watch it!
Don’t forget to analyze your mistakes after each
practice you do. Use official materials only. Nonstandard tests badly backfire your ambitions and
reduce the chances of getting a desired score on
IELTS Listening. The best and most reliable sources
to do Listening practice include, but not limited to,
Cambridge series, The Official Guide to IELTS,
Trainer 1 and 2, Achieve IELTS. Remember, doing
practice tests every single day never improves your
Listening unless your exam is coming soon or you
do something additional for Listening other than just
practice tests.
Reading 9.0
1. READ ARTICLES ON YOUR PREFERRED
TOPICS EVERY DAY (science, make up,
computer technologies, history, etcetera)
2. ANALYZE YOUR MISTAKES WITH
YOUR TEACHER OR IN GROUP (to ease the
process and make it more efficient)
3. WORK ON YOUR WEEKNESSES AND
THE QUESTION TYPES YOU GET THE
MOST INCORRECT ANSWERS IN (do not
always waste your time focusing on your strong
areas)
4. LEARN NEW WORDS IN PASSAGES
AND ARTICLES YOU ARE DONE WITH (the
more you know the vocab, the better you solve
the tests)
5. DO NOT MOVE ONTO THE NEW
PASSAGE OR PRACTICE TEST UNTIL YOU
DEEPLY ANALYZE THE CURRENT ONES
AND UNDERSTAND WHY YOU GOT THE
INCORRECT ANSWERS (1 analyzed passage
is better than 100 undone ones)
6. CONSISTENCY IS IMPORTANT; READ
ENGLISH WITHOUT FAIL - NO DAY OFFs
(your reading comprehension improves faster if
you are consistent)
7. READ FINISHED PASSAGES AND
ARTICLES FOR AT LEAST 5 TIMES TO GET
THE WHOLE PICTURE AND SOLIDIFY
LEARNED VOCABULARIES (do not waste
authentic passages without reading them for the
sake of enjoyment and education)

SPEAKING 8.0
A lot of input in the first place - Podcasts, YouTube
videos, movies etc.
Learning grammar and vocabulary daily - They
are two fundamental tenets of a cohesive speech
Record your own speech to keep the track of your
mistakes and progress - If you just speak without
having it recorded, you never know where and how
often you are making errors. B
y recording, you can avoid such errors the next time
you speak
Find different partners to improve your confidence
and get rid of shyness - In doing so, not only will
you become a confident speaker, but will also
enhance your communication abilities while talking
to many people.
Receive feedback from an experienced tutor or
someone you are acquainted with. - They are better
able to identify your flaws in speaking and help you
out to fix them provided that you act on the
feedback. It is suggested that you admit your
mistakes and follow the guidance they give you. Do
not be arrogant when you are learning!
Prepare your speech for general and free topics
coming from your own life and experience, such as
what you did or are going to do today. - Using this
approach, you develop your spoken English more
smoothly and freely.
Imitate a native speaker every single day; choose a
language parent from whom you can absorb the
patterns of speech. - My own examples are Andrew
Tate, Jordan Peterson, Iman Gadzhi.
Make your sample answers ready for Speaking
Assistant App questions each day - This way you
will become a fluent speaker in the exam with little
or virtually no hesitation when giving answers.
Golden rule: Just do it!
Don’t forget to follow the advice you asked for.
