Mood and Hormones
What is Mood? Mood is the current state of mind or feeling.
What are Hormones? Hormones are chemical messengers secreted by
endocrine glands directly into the blood stream which transports them to the
target site.
Happy Hormones: Oxytocin, Dopamine, Serotonin, Endorphins, etc.
When do you have a sad mood? When there is excessive secretion of stress
hormones or insufficient secretion of happy hormones.
Why is happiness important? Happiness is essential for better mental &
physical health, enhanced relationships, improved productivity and efficiency.
When are we happy? We are happy when happy hormones are secreted in a
sufficiently good quantity and stress hormones are secreted as per the required
quantity and only when required.
When are happy hormones secreted? When we do good activities and build
good habits.
What are the examples of these good activities and good habits?
1. Good quality sleep and sufficient sleep.
2. Physical Exercise
3. Meditation and Yoga
4. Freshening yourself in the bathroom.
5. Grooming ourselves and taking steps to be our best.
6. Praying to God.
7. Eating good food and favourite food.
8. Travelling
9. Doing productive work.
10. Listening to good music and good songs.
11. Interacting with like-minded and good people.
12. Helping others in need.
13. Spending time with family, friends and loved ones.
14. Watching good movies, shows, series
15. Playing games and sports.
16. Working on hobbies.
17. Cleaning room, house and surroundings.
18. Being responsible.
19. Having mutually respectful and loving Sex
20. Watching good porn and masturbation.
21. Sleeping with loved ones.
22. Visiting different places and tourist spots.
23. Being grateful for life and expressing gratitude for what we have and what
we are.
When are we sad? When we take too much stress regarding anything, much
more than necessary or when we do any activity which can hinder our ability to
perform those activities and continue those habits which make us feel happy.
What are the examples of activities, events and habits that make us sad?
1. Anything which can lead to hyper-stress
2. Overthinking
3. Negative thinking
4. Minding unnecessarily
5. Excessive and unnecessary use of social media and mobile
6. Laziness
7. Not freshening properly and completely
8. Skipping meals
9. Eating too much junk food
10. Social isolation
11. Not doing productive work
12. Listening to sad songs and sad music.
13. Interacting with rude and bad people.
14. Not recreating and relaxing properly
15. Sedentary lifestyle
16. Not cleaning room, home and surroundings for a long time
17. Any kind of addiction
18. Breaking rules and doing unethical things
19. Being unnecessarily rude to others or hurting others or making others sad
20. Unnecessary comparisons and not being grateful for what we already have
and what we already are.
21. Insufficient sleep and bad quality sleep
22. Not forgiving others, not forgiving yourself, holding grudges
23. Any event or news which brings sadness
Important Note: We cannot and will not be happy all the time and vice-versa.
Change is the only constant. We should be strategically prepared to tackle
hyper-stress and sadness.
