Course Objectives:
To introduce learners to the prophetic traditions pertaining legal matters and rulings.
Prerequisite courses: Legal Study of Hadith.
Expected Learning Outcomes of the Course:
Define the word Hadith.
Discuss documentation of Hadith in early developments.
Signify Hadith in the Islamic legal tradition, Development of science of Hadith, nature and structure of the hadith.
Explain relationship between Qur’an and hadith, the relation of hadith to other sources.
Explain significances of oral tradition Major hadith collections.

Conversant with a number of traditions of the provisions
Analyze ways of deduction from the tradition.
State and explain the source of the traditions that can be relied upon.
Explain Classification of Hadith.
Discuss Impugnment and validation of Hadith.
